The Anglican and Episcopalian Church in The Hague

Guy’s farewell

We had a lovely set of farewells for our wonderful curate Guy last weekend and we are all praying for him as he is licensed on Sunday 7th March in Liege.

We had fond tributes and gifts from all parts of our diverse church and I am delighted that six former clergy colleagues turned up to say goodbye. It was great to hear Andrew Gready and Andrew Taylor speak warmly of his ministry at the official zoom farewell.

When, on family orders, I skipped the 4th farewell to celebrate my birthday tea, I hear that Michael Sanders was even spotted on Sunday evening Wellspring zoom!

Guy gave me a lovely introduction to the post as chaplain here that was both wise and warm and I will always be grateful. Though the church will miss him deeply, there was, over the weekend,  a general warm feeling of everyone, past and present, coming together to give thanks for a great curate.  We have put some photos of Guy and his gifts on the website.  A video of his licensing (which will take place this Sunday) will be available on our website and on the Liege website after the service.  Please keep him in your prayers.
