About Andrea and OMF

OMF International, formerly China Inland Mission, has been working amongst East Asia’s peoples for more than 150 years. As a Fellowship we work to bring the Good News of Jesus in all its fullness to East Asia’s peoples. We aim to see indigenous, biblical church movements amongst East Asia’s peoples, reaching out to their own people and others in mission.

I serve as an OMF International Facilitator leading Serve Asia, a program through which more than 800 short-term workers join to strategically serve with OMF missionaries, teams and ministries across 17 East Asian countries and beyond serving amongst East Asians in diaspora. I have been leading this program for the past 7 years and as a program we aim to invest in short-term workers through mission discipleship and mentorship. We want to see every short-term worker find their place in God’s mission. I also sit as a member of OMF’s Global Vision Council, OMF’s highest governance body. Together we hold the mission and its leadership accountable and focused on our God given mission and vision and especially to bring the Gospel to the neglected areas of East Asia. I currently serve OMF from Japan, helping OMF Japan with new initiatives to mobilize others, especially Filipinos, to serve as well as build partnerships focused on reaching Japanese people and see churches planted in Japan, where less than 1% have a saving knowledge of Christ. Alongside my OMF ministry, I also have been serving with the Lausanne Movement representing Southeast Asia’s younger leaders.

How can I support Andrea and OMF?

  • Through prayer for Andrea as she juggles her different leadership responsibilities along with local life and ministry. Pray as she continues to adjust to life and language learning in Japan. Pray for continued dependence on God and for boldness to share about Jesus with others who do not know about Him. Pray for vibrant spiritual life and enough rest.
  • Through volunteering: People can volunteer with OMF and serve up to 12 months through the Serve Asia program using their skills and gifts. There are hundreds of opportunities to serve (http://opportunities.omf.org).
  • Through financial gifts: OMF is a faith-based mission. All OMF missionaries depend on God for provision, Support for ministry goes to Andrea’s individual life and ministry costs. Funding helps keep her in ministry and on the field.
